Agra, Firozabad Schools Closed On September 26 Amid Heavy Rain Forecast

All schools from Class 1 to Class 12 in Agra and Firozabad districts have been ordered to remain closed on 26 September 2026 in view of the forecast of heavy rain. Teaching work will remain suspended in all government, aided and private schools covered under the basic education and secondary education departments in both districts.

The orders have been issued in Agra on the instructions of District Magistrate Manish Bansal and in Firozabad under the direction of District Magistrate Santosh Kumar Sharma. The decision has been taken keeping the safety of students in mind, according to the official instructions.

In Agra, the district administration has declared a holiday in schools due to the weather situation and the possibility of heavy rain. District Magistrate Manish Bansal has issued the order for closure of schools. The administration has directed the concerned education officials to ensure strict compliance with the order.

The Agra administration has also warned that action may be taken against schools that violate the order. The name of Manish Bansal is listed as the District Magistrate on the official website of the Agra district administration.

In Firozabad, a similar order has been issued to keep schools from Class 1 to Class 12 closed. The order has been issued under the direction of District Magistrate Santosh Kumar Sharma. The Basic Education Department has given District Basic Education Officer Anil Kumar Singh and the concerned secondary education officials the responsibility of ensuring that the order is followed.

The closure applies to schools under the basic education and secondary education departments, along with private and aided schools in the relevant categories. Teaching work will remain suspended on Saturday in these institutions across both districts.

Officials have also directed that students and parents be informed about the closure through school management. No teaching work will take place in schools on 26 September.

The instructions were issued after a heavy rain forecast for Agra and Firozabad. The administration in both districts has asked education officials to make sure that the closure order is implemented properly in all schools covered by it.
