The accident took place in the Sasni Kotwali area. According to the information available, a tractor-trolley loaded with cow dung manure collided with the Bolero that Amit was driving. The impact was so strong that the Bolero lost its balance and overturned on the road.
Amit was returning from Iglas towards Sasni in the Bolero when the collision took place. After the vehicle overturned, he allegedly ran after the tractor driver in an attempt to catch him.
It has been alleged that the tractor driver did not stop the vehicle. Instead, he drove the tractor over Amit, seriously injuring him. The driver then abandoned the tractor at the spot and fled.
People present near the accident site, along with Amit’s fellow employees, took him to the district hospital in a serious condition. After examining him, doctors declared him dead.
The deceased has been identified as Amit, a resident of Nagla Chandan in Auraiya. He worked as a Bolero driver for KRC company.
As soon as information about the accident was received, Amit’s fellow employees informed the police and his family. His family members also reached the hospital after learning about the incident. The news of Amit’s death caused grief and turmoil in the family.
Police reached the spot and took the body into custody before sending it for post-mortem examination. The tractor that had allegedly been left at the accident site was also taken into police custody.
The police are working to identify and trace the accused tractor driver. Investigators are also questioning eyewitnesses to collect information about the accident and establish the sequence of events.
