Best Performing Students Urged to Inspire Others at Shining Stars Awards

The State government has honoured 175 top-performing students in the NTR district, urging them to serve as role models for their peers. The recognition came during the Shining Stars Awards–2026 programme, held on Monday at the Maris Stella College auditorium in Vijayawada.

District Collector G. Lakshmisha, addressing the gathering, encouraged the awardees to aim for greater achievements and inspire others through their success. The event was organised by the School Education Department and Samagra Shiksha.

Personal Stories of Inspiration

Recalling his own childhood, Mr. Lakshmisha shared a defining moment from his school days when he received a dictionary as a prize for excelling in Class V. "The joy on my mother’s face when I showed her the prize was unforgettable," he said, adding that the experience motivated him to strive for excellence in life.

Vijayawada East MLA Gadde Rammohan also addressed the students, underscoring the transformative power of education. "Hard work and dedication to studies can change not just your future but that of your entire family," he said.

Recognising Academic Excellence

The event celebrated 135 students who achieved exceptional marks in the Class X examinations and 40 Intermediate students who excelled academically. Each student received a cash award of ₹20,000, along with a medal and certificate.

The ceremony also saw participation from several key figures, including Twenty-Point Programme Implementation Committee Chairman Lanka Dinakar, District Library Organisation Chairman M.S. Beg, and District Intermediate Education Officer B. Prabhakar Rao, alongside parents and officials from Samagra Shiksha.

A Platform for Future Role Models

The Shining Stars Awards aim to not only reward academic excellence but also inspire students to become leaders and motivators in their communities. The initiative reflects the State government’s commitment to nurturing talent and fostering a culture of achievement among young learners.
