16-Year-Old Girl Missing For Month, Family Alleges Police Inaction In Kanpur

A 16-year-old minor girl has been missing for a month from the Gajner police station area in Kanpur. Her family has accused the police of negligence and alleged that no concrete action has been taken despite a case being registered at Gajner police station.

The incident was reported from Ranjitpur village, Post Sarwankheda, under the Gajner police station area. According to the girl’s father, Vijay Pal, his 16-year-old daughter went missing from their home at 12:30 am on 01/09/2026.

Vijay Pal has alleged that local strongmen Aniket Singh, Sunil, Rajesh and their unidentified associates lured his daughter away and took her with them. He also said that a gold earring, mangalsutra, kamarband, anklets and 40 thousand rupees in cash were missing from the house.

The girl’s father further alleged that Aniket Singh and his associates had threatened several times in the past to make his daughter disappear. The family has raised questions over the police investigation and said that their daughter has still not been traced.

The family members said that although a case has been registered at Gajner police station, the police have not taken any concrete action for a month. They have alleged that the delay has continued even as the minor remains missing.

The victim’s family has now approached higher officials, demanding the safe recovery of the girl and strict action against the accused.
