CM Sukhu to Raise Himachal's Financial Issues at NITI Aayog Meeting

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is set to attend the 11th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog today (Thursday) in Delhi. The meeting, chaired by PM Narendra Modi, will take place at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre.

CM Sukhu is expected to highlight critical financial issues affecting Himachal Pradesh during the discussions.

According to sources, CM Sukhu may raise demands for compensation to address the financial losses caused by the discontinuation of Revenue Deficit Grant (RDG) and the GST system.

He is also likely to advocate for more effective disaster relief and compensation mechanisms for hill states impacted by natural calamities.

The meeting will see participation from all state Chief Ministers, Union Territory Lieutenant Governors, and senior central government officials. It is considered a key platform for fostering policy coordination and cooperative federalism between the Centre and states.

Discussions are expected to cover topics such as human resource development, education, skill development, employment generation, and entrepreneurship.

Other potential agenda items include state development priorities, enhancing job opportunities for youth, and aligning skilled human resources with industry needs.
