CM Calls for Change in Crop Cultivation Strategies to Suit El Nino Conditions Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has urged officials to revise crop cultivation strategies to address challenges posed by El Nino and explore opportunities for crop diversification.
The directive came during a review meeting on agriculture, horticulture, and aqua sectors held at the Secretariat on Wednesday, June 17, 2026.
The Chief Minister emphasized the need to guide farmers in cultivating agricultural, commercial, and horticultural crops while promoting a large-scale shift to natural farming.
He highlighted the importance of adapting to the global emphasis on certification for seeds and agricultural and horticultural produce. Mr.
Naidu also stressed the need to educate farmers on scientific cultivation methods and assist them in addressing issues related to crops such as chilli, tobacco, and mangoes, particularly the Totapuri variety.
He directed officials to develop plans for cultivating pulses, which are in high market demand, to enhance farmers' earnings. Additionally, he called for meetings with aqua farmers and aqua feed manufacturers to address their concerns.
