President reviews passing out parade at Indian Military Academy

President Droupadi Murmu reviewed the passing out parade of the 158th Regular Course and the 141st Technical Graduate Course at the Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun on June 13, 2026. The event marked the culmination of rigorous training for officer cadets, including nine women cadets, a significant milestone in the Academy's history.

Addressing the cadets, the President congratulated them on completing one of the toughest training programs in the country. She highlighted the inclusion of women cadets as a 'watershed moment' for the IMA and emphasized its role in advancing women-led development in India. She expressed hope that more women would join the Academy in the future.

The President also acknowledged the participation of cadets from friendly foreign nations, underscoring their role in strengthening international defence cooperation. She noted that the presence of foreign cadets reflects India's commitment to fostering global peace and collaboration.

In her speech, the President reminded the cadets of their responsibility to uphold the nation's sovereignty and integrity. She urged them to adapt to evolving security challenges and technological advancements while maintaining ethical leadership and teamwork.
