India outlines youth-led vision for Viksit Bharat @ 2047

The Indian government has unveiled its vision for 'Viksit Bharat @ 2047,' emphasizing youth empowerment as a cornerstone of national development. With 65% of the population under 35, the government aims to harness this demographic dividend through initiatives in education, skilling, entrepreneurship, sports, and civic participation.

The National Education Policy 2020 has been pivotal in reshaping education, focusing on quality and accessibility. Over 1.49 lakh schools now feature ICT and digital tools, while programs like Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas have improved access for marginalized groups. Higher education reforms, including the National Credit Framework and Academic Bank of Credits, have introduced flexibility and innovation, benefiting millions of students.

India's startup ecosystem has flourished, with over 2.3 lakh recognized startups contributing to economic growth. Initiatives like Atal Innovation Mission have supported over 6,700 startups and created 32,000 jobs. Digital platforms such as SWAYAM and DIKSHA have expanded learning opportunities, with millions enrolling in online courses.

Infrastructure expansion has also been significant, with medical colleges increasing from 431 in 2014 to 818 in 2026. International campuses of IITs and IIMs further highlight India's growing global academic footprint.

This youth-centric approach underscores the government's commitment to making young Indians active partners in nation-building, aiming for a developed India by 2047.
