Cabinet Secretary reviews NEET re-exam readiness with NTA DG

Cabinet Secretary Dr. T. V. Somanathan conducted a detailed review of preparations for the upcoming NEET re-examination in a meeting with the Director General of the National Testing Agency (NTA) on June 12, 2026. The re-examination is scheduled for June 21, 2026, and aims to ensure a smooth, transparent, and secure process.

Dr. Somanathan emphasized the importance of close coordination among the Central Government, State Governments, and District administrations to uphold the integrity of the examination. He issued a stern warning, stating that "the full might and weight of the law will fall on any person trying to distort, disrupt, or tamper with the integrity or smooth conduct of the re-examination."

Earlier, on June 1, 2026, the Cabinet Secretary reviewed arrangements with Central Government Secretaries and relevant agencies. This was followed by a meeting on June 4, 2026, with Chief Secretaries of State Governments to assess progress and preparedness.

These reviews are part of a broader effort to strengthen coordination and ensure the credibility of the NEET re-examination process. The government is prioritizing transparency and security to maintain trust in the examination system.

The NEET re-examination is a critical step for students aspiring to pursue medical education, and the authorities are working diligently to ensure its smooth conduct without disruptions.
