West Bengal Governor R.N. Ravi Unveils New Government's Key Priorities

West Bengal Governor R.N. Ravi outlined the priorities of the newly elected BJP government during his address to the state assembly on Thursday.

In his speech, Ravi emphasized the government’s commitment to tackling corruption, extortion, and criminal activities, while also focusing on the identification and deportation of illegal foreigners.

Speaking at the first session of the new assembly, formed after the BJP's victory in May, Ravi assured that the government under Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari is determined to bring an end to what he described as a "culture of intimidation" and dismantle networks of corruption

and extortion.

He stated, "The new government has already initiated action against anti-social elements who allegedly enjoyed protection under the previous administration." Highlighting the government's focus on border security, Ravi said strict measures are being taken to identify illegal

foreigners and deport them. He added that the administration is fully aware of the challenges faced by the people of West Bengal and is committed to addressing them effectively.

The governor also underscored the government’s efforts to curb illegal sand and coal mining, which have been persistent issues in the state.
