A medical store operating without registration and a licence was sealed on Monday evening in Bichhiya along the India-Nepal border in Bahraich. Two drug samples taken from the store have been sent to a laboratory in Lucknow for testing.
The action was taken after a raid by Drug Inspector Vinay Krishna Yadav, who reached the spot late in the evening along with Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) personnel. The raid followed a complaint that prohibited medicines were being sold at the store.
The medical store, named Roshan Medical Store, was operating in Bichhiya in the Sujauli area along the India-Nepal border. When the officials asked its operator, Satyam Madheshia, to produce the required documents, he was unable to show them.
Following this, the medical store, which was being operated without a licence, was sealed. The prohibited medicines being sold there were also taken into custody. Two medicines were selected as samples and sent to a laboratory in Lucknow for examination.
The samples will be checked as part of the investigation into the medicines being sold at the store. The Drug Inspector said that the shop from which the medicines were being supplied to this store would also be investigated. Further action will be taken after that investigation.
