Sonam Raghuvanshi, the prime accused in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, has denied allegations of fleeing to Nepal. Speaking to East Mojo, she clarified that she is residing in Shillong and has not left the city.
Sonam urged the public not to believe rumors about her escape, calling such claims baseless.
Her statement comes after Raja Raghuvanshi's elder brother, Vipin Raghuvanshi, alleged that she had fled the country following her release on conditional bail and demanded a CBI investigation into the matter.
Sonam emphasized that she has consistently complied with all bail conditions set by the court.
She stated, "I have always respected and followed the court's conditions and will continue to do so." Regarding her current location, she confirmed staying in Shillong but refrained from disclosing her exact residence due to security concerns.
She also denied any plans to return to Indore until her ongoing case is resolved. Defending Sonam, her lawyer Sudip Rana dismissed allegations of aiding her escape to Nepal, calling them baseless.
Rana clarified that he has no ties to Nepal despite his Nepali heritage and affirmed that both he and Sonam have remained in Shillong. He added that Sonam was present in court during the latest hearing.
