RBI Reports ₹7.23 Lakh Crore Overnight Money Market Activity

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released its latest update on money market operations as of June 11, 2026. The overnight money market saw a total transaction volume of ₹7,23,737.09 crore, with a weighted average rate of 5.14%.

The rate ranged between 1.00% and 5.40% across various segments. Breaking down the overnight segment, the call money market recorded ₹16,981.69 crore at an average rate of 5.27%, while the triparty repo segment accounted for ₹5,15,214.50 crore at 5.13%.

The market repo and corporate bond repo segments contributed ₹1,84,830.60 crore and ₹6,710.30 crore, respectively. In the term segment, triparty repo transactions amounted to ₹4,872 crore at an average rate of 5.08%, while term money transactions ranged between 5.50% and 6.60%.

Notably, no transactions were reported in the corporate bond repo segment for the term category. On the liquidity front, the RBI absorbed a net ₹1,92,961 crore through its operations on June 11, 2026.

The Standing Liquidity Facility (SLF) availed by banks stood at ₹10,293.79 crore. Scheduled commercial banks maintained cash reserves of ₹7,61,893.16 crore with the RBI, slightly below the fortnightly requirement of ₹7,90,713 crore.

These figures highlight the robust activity in India's money markets, reflecting liquidity management and short-term borrowing trends. The data underscores the central bank's role in maintaining financial stability through its liquidity adjustment mechanisms.
