PM Modi to Celebrate West Bengal Foundation Day and Yoga Day in Kolkata

PM Modi to Visit West Bengal for State Foundation Day and Yoga Day Celebrations Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit West Bengal on June 20 and 21 to participate in two significant events: the inaugural official celebration of West Bengal Foundation Day and the national-level International Day of Yoga observances in Kolkata.

West Bengal Minister Swapan Dasgupta described the visit as a historic occasion, highlighting the extensive preparations made by the state government and event organisers to ensure the success of these large-scale events.

The West Bengal Foundation Day celebration on June 20 will mark the first time the state officially commemorates the occasion. Prime Minister Modi is expected to join the festivities, underscoring its cultural and historical importance.

On June 21, the Prime Minister will lead the International Day of Yoga celebrations in Kolkata, with the main event scheduled to take place at Red Road. This marks the first time PM Modi will observe Yoga Day in the city. The event is expected to draw wide public participation.

To prepare for the visit, a city-wide cleanliness drive has been launched in Kolkata.

BJP leader and West Bengal Minister Agnimitra Paul noted that the initiative involves school students, senior citizens, and the general public, focusing on cleaning temples, roads, riverbanks, and parks.

The twin events aim to highlight the cultural and social significance of West Bengal Foundation Day and International Yoga Day, making the Prime Minister's visit a memorable occasion for the state.
