The National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) has announced 12 selected projects for the second edition of WAVES Doc Bazaar, scheduled from June 16-18, 2026, alongside the 19th Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF).
The event will include cash grants of ₹3 lakh each for three standout projects. WAVES Doc Bazaar is an industry platform aimed at fostering collaborations and market opportunities for documentary, short film, and animation creators.
This year, the programme received 155 submissions from 19 countries in 35 languages, reflecting a diverse pool of talent.
The selected projects include four films in the Work-in-Progress (WIP) Lab, where filmmakers will present rough cuts to international advisors for feedback and mentorship.
The remaining eight projects, either completed or in post-production, will seek sales, distribution, and exhibition opportunities.
A key feature of the event is the Open Pitch Session on June 16, where all 12 projects will be presented to industry professionals, including buyers, distributors, and festival representatives.
Additionally, the Viewing Room, a digital library, will showcase 155 projects to facilitate networking and distribution.
