NCC Adds State Directorates in Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) has established two new independent State Directorates in Andhra Pradesh and Jharkhand, increasing the total number of such directorates in India from 17 to 19.

This move aims to enhance youth empowerment and improve access to NCC training and resources in these states. The decision, approved by the Directorate General NCC, will bring the organization closer to cadets and educational institutions in Andhra Pradesh and Jharkhand.

It is expected to improve coordination, supervision, and support for training and developmental activities. Enhanced infrastructure and support mechanisms will provide more opportunities for youth in these regions.

The NCC, established in 1948 with 20,000 cadets, has grown into the world's largest uniformed youth organization with over 20 lakh cadets. Between 2014 and 2025, the organization added 6 lakh cadets and now operates in more than 750 districts nationwide.

The creation of these new directorates is expected to strengthen the NCC's administrative framework, enabling it to continue shaping responsible and capable citizens while contributing to a stronger and more developed India.
