Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will inaugurate the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2026 on June 16 in New Delhi.
Organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, the event runs from June 15 to 17, aiming to engage youth in democratic processes and governance, with a focus on 'Nari Shakti Vandan' and 'Viksit Bharat 2047.' This flagship initiative is designed to provide young
participants with firsthand experience of parliamentary proceedings and policy deliberations. The programme includes three stages: district, state, and national rounds, with the final round bringing top-performing delegates from across India to the national capital.
Key activities at the national round include opening remarks by participants, a parliamentary-style question hour, a masterclass on public speaking, and visits to the PM Sangrahalaya and the new Parliament building.
The event will conclude with an awards ceremony on June 17, recognizing outstanding contributions. The discussions will center on themes like inclusivity and women's empowerment, aligning with India's vision for 2047.
By involving youth in such initiatives, the programme aims to inspire future leaders and strengthen their understanding of governance and policymaking.
