The Ministry of Ayush has set a new Guinness World Record for the largest viewership of a YouTube live Yoga stream, with 435,831 verified viewers joining a global online Yoga session on June 14, 2026.
This achievement comes ahead of International Day of Yoga 2026, promoting Yoga as a daily practice under the 'Yoga 365' movement.
The event, streamed via the Ministry's official YouTube channel, featured the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) and surpassed the previous record of 246,252 viewers set in 2024.
Participants included Yoga practitioners, students, institutions, and wellness enthusiasts from India and abroad. The session was organized in collaboration with the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga and other partners.
Union Minister of State for Ayush, Shri Prataprao Jadhav, highlighted Yoga's ability to unite people globally and urged citizens to adopt Yoga as a way of life. Secretary of Ayush, Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, emphasized the importance of making Yoga a lifelong practice.
Special messages from ministers like Shri Kiren Rijiju and Dr. Mohan Yadav underscored Yoga's role in preventive healthcare and holistic well-being.
The event aligns with the theme of International Day of Yoga 2026, 'Yoga for Healthy Ageing,' which focuses on promoting longevity and quality of life.
