India and Slovakia sign 11 MoUs, elevate ties to Comprehensive

During the Prime Minister's visit to Slovakia on June 15, 2026, India and Slovakia signed 11 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements across diverse fields, including education, defense, and technology.

The bilateral relationship was elevated to a Comprehensive Partnership, marking a significant milestone in diplomatic ties. Key agreements include cooperation in labor migration, defense, digital technologies, higher education, and quantum communication.

Notably, the first-ever ICCR Chair in Artificial Intelligence will be established at the Technical University of Kosice, fostering innovation and academic collaboration.

Additionally, IIT Delhi and Slovak Technical University agreed on student exchange programs and joint research initiatives.

Tourism cooperation was also strengthened through agreements between tour operator associations, while scientific collaboration was formalized between the Indian National Science Academy and the Slovak Academy of Sciences.

The Ministry of Ayush signed an MoU with Slovak Health Spa Piestany to promote naturopathy.

Three major announcements were made: the elevation of bilateral ties to Comprehensive Partnership, the creation of a Joint Working Group on Counter-Terrorism, and the establishment of a Consular Dialogue.
