India and France have adopted the India-France Innovation Roadmap 2030 to strengthen bilateral cooperation in emerging technologies, research, and education.
This framework aims to foster innovation-led growth, address global challenges, and deepen ties in areas like AI, academic mobility, and technological sovereignty.
The roadmap builds on the Horizon 2047 framework and aligns with India's 'Viksit Bharat 2047' vision and France's 'France 2030' strategy.
A key focus is on 'trusted AI,' promoting safe and secure AI systems, addressing child safety online, and enabling privacy-preserving data sharing. Both nations will collaborate on AI governance and frameworks to ensure innovation aligns with democratic values and human rights.
In education, France aims to welcome 30,000 Indian students by 2030. The roadmap emphasizes mutual recognition of qualifications, dual-degree programs, and academic mobility to strengthen people-to-people ties.
Institutions from both countries will collaborate on research and student exchanges. The roadmap also highlights industry-academia linkages to drive innovation-led growth.
Initiatives include the India-France Innovation Network (IFIN), the Indo-French Centre for the Promotion of Advanced Research (CEFIPRA), and a new aeronautical training campus in Kanpur. These efforts aim to secure technological sovereignty and foster resilient supply chains.
