Amaravati to get quantum and AI innovation centre with IBM on June 18

Amaravati to Host Quantum and AI Innovation Centre in Collaboration with IBM Amaravati is set to witness the launch of the Amaravati Quantum and AI Innovation Centre (AQAIC) on June 18, a flagship initiative by the Andhra Pradesh government in partnership with IBM.

This move aims to establish a quantum innovation ecosystem in the State, according to an official release.

The AQAIC has been envisioned as a platform to connect industry challenges with academic talent and technological expertise, positioning itself as the foundation for what the release describes as India’s largest organised quantum problem-solving force.

The centre is designed to accelerate the development of practical quantum computing applications and algorithms that address real-world challenges across various industries and public services.

Its operational framework integrates contributions from three key stakeholders: industry, academia, and technology experts.

Industry partners will provide complex problem statements requiring advanced computational solutions, while professors and students will focus on developing quantum algorithms and use cases to tackle these challenges. IBM will offer technical guidance throughout the process.

Supporting this initiative is a Statewide network of 380 quantum innovation cells established across engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh, engaging over 3,000 professors and students in collaborative efforts.
