IIM Indore to Study Vaibhav Suryavanshi's Mindset and Success Formula

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore has announced a multidisciplinary study on young cricketer Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who has gained widespread recognition for his exceptional performance in IPL 2026. The study, referred to as the 'Vaibhav Model,' aims to decode the factors behind his success, including his mindset, management strategies, and the social, psychological, and institutional influences that shaped his journey.

Vaibhav, an opener for Rajasthan Royals, broke Chris Gayle's 14-year-old record by hitting 72 sixes in a single IPL season. He also achieved a remarkable strike rate of 237.30, scoring 776 runs in 16 innings, which included one century and five half-centuries. His performance earned him multiple accolades, including the Orange Cap, 'Emerging Player of the Season,' and 'Super Striker of the Season.'

IIM Indore Director Himanshu Roy highlighted the importance of understanding the elements contributing to Vaibhav's success, such as his talent, hard work, family support, and mentorship. The study will also explore challenges like the pressures of early fame, financial offers, and social media influence, aiming to create a blueprint for nurturing talent sustainably.

Vaibhav's batting technique, developed under childhood coach Manish Ojha and refined by Rajasthan Royals' Zubin Bharucha, has been praised for its precision and adaptability. His ability to make decisions in just 0.3 seconds has left bowlers struggling to counter his aggressive style.

This initiative by IIM Indore is expected to provide valuable insights for future managers, policymakers, and the corporate world, offering a new model for talent management and development.
