Founder of Cockroach Janata Party to Protest at Jantar Mantar on June 6

Abhijit Deepake, the founder of Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), is set to return to India on June 6 and lead a peaceful protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. The protest will focus on demanding the resignation of the Education Minister. Deepake shared this information through the 'Cockroach is Back' account on X (formerly Twitter).

Deepake, a resident of Sambhaji Nagar in Maharashtra, is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Public Relations at Boston University, USA. He previously worked as a social media strategist for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) during the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, creating viral meme-based campaign materials. Reports indicate that Deepake studied journalism in Pune before moving to the United States for further education.

The Cockroach Janata Party's X account was blocked on May 21 following government orders citing national security concerns. Deepake has challenged this decision in the Delhi High Court, which has asked the government and X to respond within four weeks. The next hearing is scheduled for July 6. The court emphasized the need to hear all parties due to the broader implications of the case.

The CJP's new X account, named 'Cockroach is Back,' has gained significant traction, amassing over 240,000 followers as of Monday afternoon. Deepake has been vocal on political and social issues, often criticizing the central government and Prime Minister through his social media platforms.

The case has also drawn attention at the Supreme Court, which recently declined a request for a CBI investigation into CJP-related activities, stating that the matter should not be taken emotionally.
